The film centers on a man who returns to the Caribbean island of his youth and becomes a suspect in the murder of a teenage girl that was committed two days after his arrival. The state attorney general warned the court's decision - that the sweepstakes game was a carefully planned effort to get around Alabama anti-gambling laws - likely would force closure of many smaller operations statewide. Jefferson County District Attorney David Barber, whose appeal led to Friday's decision, and others said they won't act to close gambling operations until the judgment is final. In Cullman County, however, an afternoon raid closed one operation and two others closed voluntarily.
